Annual Events

Open House

Before the start of the new school year, children and parents are welcome to attend the Open House morning. It gives children the opportunity to find their lockers and meet their teachers.

Pancake Breakfast

At the beginning of the new school year, a pancake breakfast is held for students, families and staff to enjoy. Each year, a group of volunteers lend a helping hand to make and serve the pancakes. Following the breakfast, there will be an opening day assembly.

Thanksgiving Dinner

A Thanksgiving dinner to give thanks to God is held every October at our school. Admission is free to attend and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving feast. There is a free-will offering to cover the costs associated with the meal and raise funds for Ponoka Christian School.

Fall Drive

Every year, Ponoka Christian School has their annual Fall Drive to raise funds for the school. It is a way for the PCS Society and supporters to ensure the school can continue to offer quality Christian education. Gifts may be directed towards the following areas;

  • Tuition relief
  • Debt reduction
  • Building fund
  • General fund (day-to-day operations)

Christmas Program

At the end of every year, the students participate in the annual Christmas Program. This event is held at the school where our community gathers, worships and celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.

School Auction

The Ponoka Christian School has a day of fun for the whole family at the School Auction. Along with the live auction, there is a concession, a catered luncheon, a kids’ carnival, and the opportunity to enjoy each other's fellowship and conversation. All items at the auction are donated by local families and businesses, with the proceeds to be used for different projects or needs the school may have, which vary from year to year. PCS is truly blessed by the generosity of all our supporters.

Grandparents Day

PCS hosts a special appreciation day for the grandparents, seniors and ministers in our community. This special day allows students to invite their grandparents, special visitors, or their ministers to enjoy a short program, have fellowship with one another and get treated to some snacks as they tour the school and visit the classrooms and the students themselves.

Field Day

In May, all students, volunteers and spectators are invited to participate in some athletic fun. There is a concession and luncheon available. Half the day is competitive per grade, and the other half is school group competitions.
